AI integrators

AI integrators for the printing industry

Meet the companies that help printing companies with AI. Printelligence looks at the shop floor, from planning to finishing: what helps the operator and what lowers the production cost? The project team visited each of them and lists them here for you.

It is almost always about your data

Anyone who wants to start with AI starts with their data. The diagram shows the path from source to decision. AI speeds up every step, it does not replace your data.

AI is the accelerator It reads, groups and summarises what is already there. The better your data, the more it delivers.
  1. Step 1

    Where your data sits

    • Orders and planningERP and MIS: what has been ordered and when it has to be ready.
    • Prepress and workflowFiles and job tickets.
    • Machines and camerasDowntime, speed, waste and images from the line.
    • PeopleOperator reports and work instructions.
  2. Step 2

    Connect and unlock

    • Read-only connectionAn API or export that looks and changes nothing.
    • Make systems talkThe order in the ERP knows the job on the press.
    • The same definitionsEveryone means the same thing by waste or downtime.
    • Manage it yourselfYou decide who may see which data.
  3. Step 3

    Insight and action

    • DashboardThe status per press or department at a glance.
    • Questions in plain languageHow many paper breaks did we have this week?
    • Recurring problemsWhat comes back every month and what it costs.
    • Suggestion for the operatorA recommendation that a human assesses.

No working AI without good data: that was already the first common thread of the steering group in March.

Our framework: how we assess

A framework is a fixed way of looking: the same questions and the same criteria for every solution. That way you compare fairly and are not led by a slick demo. Ours has two axes and four questions.

01

Supporting operators

Does this help the person at the machine? Less monitoring, faster onboarding, knowledge secured and instructions in every language spoken on the floor.

02

Lowering production costs

Does it deliver hard savings? Less misprint and waste, less downtime, less manual retyping of data that already sits in a system somewhere.

Every integrator gets the same four questions

  • Where does it run?Locally on the shop floor or only in the supplier's cloud.
  • What happens to your data?Order data, camera images and instructions: who stores them and who learns from them.
  • Are the figures real? Results at existing customers or demo material from the sales folder.
  • Is there already a printing reference?A printing or packaging company that works with it today.

How we search the market

A framework only works if you know what exists. The project team follows the market along four routes and puts every solution next to the same questions.

  1. Talking to the makers

We visit the companies and talk to the people who build the solution. A demo says less than a conversation about what really runs at a customer.

  2. Trade press and trade fairs

We follow what appears in the trade press and at trade fairs. Kelly, the team's news agent, reads along every day.

  3. The network

Members and partners of VIGC and Sirris point the way to solutions that already work in the industry. So does the steering group.

  4. Sign up yourself

Integrators submit their solution through the form at the bottom. The team reviews every submission.

What we learn along the way, we share with the steering group and in the knowledge base. Everyone on this page we have visited and spoken with. We do not rank them: which solution fits depends on your company and on your data.

For integrators

Should you be here too?

Do you build or integrate AI for printing companies? Submit your solution. The project team reviews every solution fairly and looks above all for direct, practical solutions for the shop floor.

  1. You briefly describe what your solution does for a printing company.
  2. The project team reviews it with the same four questions as above.
  3. Then you appear on this page, or you get an explanation of why not yet.
Is it a direct, practical solution for the shop floor?

Your submission goes to the Printelligence project team. We use your details only for this review.
